This will involve a thorough history of your symptoms and the effects they have on your life, followed by an examination of your neck and shoulder and upper limb.

We will then consider Xrays, Ultrasound scans or MRI scans as appropriate. 

For many conditions, physiotherapy and painkillers may suffice. Steroid (cortisone) injections are commonly used to treat or assist diagnosis in shoulder conditions.

In the majority of shoulder pathology, only when these conservative measures have failed will we consider surgical intervention."
